FUJIN

After more than two years of development, we are pleased to introduce the FUJIN mini tandem paraglider. Designed for professional and experienced recreational pilots, it works well across a broad range of conditions. Although small for a tandem, it performs reliably in stronger winds and offers a flying experience that differs from standard tandem wings.

Versatile Flying Range
FUJIN supports a wide range of soaring activities, from relaxed ridge runs to more dynamic flying. Its profile provides good wind penetration, glide performance, and smooth, predictable handling. It responds well in light winds and maintains control and stability when the wind increases.
FUJIN is available in 25 m² and 29 m²; it is suitable for lighter passengers and various wind strengths.

Take-off and Landing
FUJIN is designed to make inflations and take-offs straightforward, whether using ball or cobra techniques. Its behaviour during launch is calm and consistent, and the flare is intuitive, supporting controlled landings even in gusty or uneven air.

In-flight Characteristics
Shorter lines give the wing a slightly more compact “miniwing” feel without losing the comfort and thermalling capability of a paraglider. The FUJIN manages turbulence in a measured way, helping to keep passengers at ease in stronger conditions. Its energy retention and glide characteristics allow for efficient and predictable flight behaviour.

Flexible Use

With riser extensions, the FUJIN can be flown solo, making it suitable for light-wind soaring while waiting for conditions to improve for tandem flights.

Hugo Gaudencio - FUJIN test pilot

When we started this project, our goal was crystal clear: to create a tandem wing capable of handling strong winds safely, while ensuring easy takeoff and landing and delivering a smooth, controlled flying experience. We wanted a fast wing for strong wind penetration, but also one with a balanced glide to manage moderate crosswinds. On top of that, it had to be versatile—able to fly with different loads and in varying wind intensities, from moderate to strong.

With that vision in mind, we turned to the elder DNA of Sky Paragliders: a 4-line concept, reduced aspect ratio, and relatively short lines. We opted for a "generous leading edge", tolerant of turbulence and gusts, to guarantee stability even on days with unstable weather.

To achieve the desired performance, we designed "long trimmers", respecting the angle-of-attack limits of the profile. The result?  
An impressively low best-glide speed, with surprisingly efficient glide.  
An incredible top speed with trimmers fully open.  

The sweet spot lies in the middle: with trimmers at 50%, Fujin offers the perfect balance between glide and speed, while maintaining high levels of passive safety. When fully opened, Fujin reveals its true penetration power, easily handling sudden wind changes on unstable days.

The big ears system was tested extensively and proved extremely efficient for fast descents, maintaining full control through the brakes. With some training, landing with big ears and trimmers at 50% is not only possible but surprisingly easy—something few tandem wings can offer.

When flown under the right conditions (weight vs wind), it is accessible and safe. We recommend starting in moderate winds and gradually increasing weight and wind intensity as confidence grows, especially during takeoff.

In strong wind, the cobra technique is extremely efficient and easy with Fujin, thanks to its reduced AR. Opening 20–30% of the trimmers during inflation helps avoid the pull-back effect.

Fujin is an "honest wing", transmitting everything that happens in the air to the pilot. Small inputs are enough to keep pressure stable. The brakes are light, direct, and precise, inspiring confidence for proximity flying.

Thanks to its reduced AR and direct handling, Fujin offers an impressive brake range, making it perfect for pronounced wingovers. It easily converts speed into height, enabling vertical manoeuvres in the style of modern parakites.

We tested Fujin on coastal cliffs and demanding mountain conditions, and it proved efficient at climbing in thermals thanks to its excellent low-speed glide (considering weight vs size).

Solo Mode 
Fujin isn’t just a tandem wing. With riser extensions making solo flying feel as natural as with any standard wing, with the added advantage of a 202 kg load test, allowing higher wing loading than usual. In solo mode, Fujin is extremely versatile:  
Closed trimmers for easy climbs.  
Trimmers at 50% for radical manoeuvres and pure fun.  

With trimmers and the big ears system, the pilot has unmatched flexibility to adapt to conditions.
