The strangest one was near mossel bay. Its a very low ridge where you can fly when the wind is to strong for all other sites. And you have to start on the beach – not on the top of the ridge, because there the wind is also to strong ;-). The othe sites are Map of Africa, Wilderness Beach Hotel, Paradise Ridge, Gerickes Point, Sedgefield and Brenton on Sea. We had Deon Borrett as local guide and stood in is lodge as well, what was very nice because its directly on the beach. (www.saparaglidingadventures.co.za) We didnt fly at the „heavy“ thermal sites like Porterville or De Aar, but when you wanna visit this sites Birdman would maybe your man www.birdmen.co.za. In general flying is great there, the peoples are friendly, the food is good and the wine is perfect. The only downside is the 11h flight from europe to cape town.
