• What is your paragliding specialization and what drew you to focus on this particular aspect of the sport?
My specialty is acro, and I was drawn to it by the technical aspect of this discipline, which reminds me of the hours I spent training at the skate park before landing a trick.
• Which wing do you fly, and what makes it special to you? How does it enhance your flying experience?
I fly a Kooky 2 Pro 13, and this is the wing I’ll be using for the Acro World Tour!
This wing allows me to perform the most complex tricks with relative ease. One of its advantages is its versatility—it can be flown aggressively or in a more controlled, damped manner, depending on your flying style.
• What was your first contact with paragliding?
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been around paragliding spots with my father, who was a pilot himself. I took my first flight at the age of 12, and I’ve never stopped flying since.
• How long have you been flying and where do fly the most?
I started flying 9 years ago when I was 12. I’m originally from the south of France, where I used to fly regularly. Now, with competitions, I mainly fly in Chamonix during the winter and in Organya during the summer, which allows me to keep improving.
• Who or what inspires you to keep pushing boundaries in paragliding?
I’ve always loved the performance aspect of sports. Today, thanks to new equipment and talented pilots, we can execute increasingly complex tricks. This drives us to develop even more intricate maneuvers to stand out. That’s why we must constantly reinvent ourselves to create aesthetically pleasing flights.
• How do you perceive the risks involved in paragliding, and how do you manage them during your flights?
We understand that acro flying involves risks, but they are manageable.
We always fly with two reserve parachutes and choose suitable terrain. Modern rescue parachutes are highly efficient and allow us to land safely in case of an emergency. It’s crucial not to take unnecessary risks and to think strategically!
• What do your family and close friends think about your paragliding career, and how do they support or influence your journey?
My friends and family follow my journey closely. Their support allows me to focus entirely on competitions.
They help me make strategic decisions regarding my training and competitions.
That’s why I say: THANK YOU!
