• What is your paragliding specialisation, and what drew you to focus on this particular aspect of the sport?

My paragliding specialization is acro flying. It feels like it’s written into my DNA and quickly became an inseparable part of who I am. The sensations and experiences it brings are beyond words.

• Which wing do you fly, and what makes it special to you? How does it enhance your flying experience?

I’m currently flying the Kooky 2  and it feels like a true treasure to me, I absolutely love it. This wing gives me a new level of confidence in the air, allowing me to fully commit to the maneuvers I want to perform.

• What was your first contact with paragliding?

I had my first contact with paragliding at the end of 2019.

• How long have you been flying, and where do you fly the most?

It’s been about five and a half years since I first took to the skies. I began training in acro paragliding at the end of 2022. Most of my flying takes place in China, especially in Hanyuan and along the Zangke River, two places that have become like second homes to me in the sky.

• What is your best flight so far?

For me, every flight in life is uniquely precious. If I were to choose my best flight so far, it would be the feeling I get every time I take off. That moment in the air when I am truly in dialogue with the wind.

•  Have you faced any fears or significant challenges while flying, and how did you overcome them?

When flying, I often have to face different kinds of fears. If I’m practicing a new maneuver, I try to mentally rehearse it countless times until I gain that confidence where I feel like, “Give me a wing, and I can perform it right away.” In other emergency situations, I focus as much as possible on the present moment to make any decisions that will work in my favor.

• What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned during your paragliding career?

Paragliding has taught me countless lessons, but the most important one is learning to truly focus on the present moment. In the air, nothing else matters, it’s just you, the wing, and the wind. That mindset has influenced not only my flying but also how I live my life on the ground.

• What do your family and close friends think about your paragliding career, and how do they support or influence your journey?

My family has always supported my hobbies since I was a child, and when it comes to paragliding, they naturally gave me the greatest support they could. Their influence on my journey has been encouraging me to be myself as much as possible. I just want to say I love you all.

Whenever I face challenges, my family and the friends I do have always play important roles in my life. They are always there, patiently helping me through. I just want to say thank you.
