• What is your paragliding specialization and what drew you to focus on this particular aspect of the sport?

My specialization is acro paragliding. I used to do artistic gymnastics, so flipping and spinning in the air has always felt natural to me. When I started paragliding, acro immediately caught my attention. It's where I can fully express myself and feel the perfect mix of control, freedom, and adrenaline.

• Which wing do you fly, and what makes it special to you? How does it enhance your flying experience?

I fly the Kooky 13. It's an amazing, well-balanced wing, super versatile and stable, able to perform every trick. It gives me confidence and lets me focus purely on flying and progression.

• What was your first contact with paragliding?

My first flight was a tandem with an instructor when I was 18. The moment we took off, I knew I wanted to learn to fly on my own and take it seriously. That feeling of freedom completely hooked me.

• How long have you been flying, and where do you fly the most?

I've been flying for 11 years now. Most of the time, I fly in Ölüdeniz, Turkey. To me, it's one of the most beautiful places in the world to fly. It's also perfect for acro training with its smooth conditions and stunning scenery.

• Do you have any specific routines or rituals that you follow before taking off?

Before every takeoff, I plan my flight in detail, I visualize the tricks I want to perform and how I'll link them together. This mental preparation helps me refine my technique and make each flight more effective. I also treat pre-flight checks as a ritual: no matter how many flights I do in a day, I always double-check all straps, the reserve handle, and weather conditions. It's part of keeping myself safe and focused.

• What is the most valuable lesson you've learned during your paragliding career?

The most important thing is to always keep the risk level low. It's never shameful to cancel a flight if you're unsure about the weather or your own condition. There's always tomorrow and the cost of a mistake can be too high.

• Who or what inspires you to keep pushing boundaries in paragliding?

The community. One of the biggest reasons to fly is to be surrounded by people who share the same passion and mindset.

• How do you perceive the risks involved in paragliding, and how do you manage them during your flights?

It's one of the most important aspects of flying. Understanding and respecting risk. I never push beyond what feels right. My main rule is simple: if the risk feels higher than normal, I don't fly. Risk management and clear thinking help me maintain the right balance between safety and excitement.
